It's a...Trip along the Appalachian Trail

So Christian and Christian (former neighbor) decided to attempt to hike the entire Great Smoky Mountains section of the AT in 24 hours. The attempt was from Davenport Gap to Fontana Dam, 72 miles in 24 hours!
The puppies are ready to go on the trip!
Fueling up before the hike at Mellow Mushroom Pizza in Asheville, NC

Christie and Abby at Davenport Gap ready to drop off C-squared for the trek

Only 72 miles to go... and it's 10:20 pm!

Abby cooking breakfast at the campsite. Getting ready to have the guys meet up with them.

Here is 32 miles into the hike. A little rest stop, then back to the trails!

Nothing like seeing the wives for some good encouragement and lift to the spirits!

Only 41 miles to go here... and still smiling!

Lexi enjoys trips to the forest!

So the end to the adventure is this: Christian and Christian did not make it in 24 hours. They also did not finish at Fontana Dam. Due to the time and many other factors C-squared took a side trail to a campground. They finished 67 miles in 29 hours straight without sleeping! So they came up a couple of miles short and a few hours late but pretty successful overall! The AT is some really intense hiking!

It's a...Spring Break Vacation!

Snow in April, I love Colorado! This is the beautiful drive to Winter Park.

Here is our great lodging. Across the street from the slopes and Brand Spankin New!
Our first adventure of the trip was to go snowmobiling. Conditions were awesome and we had a blast in the powder.

Christian got his snowmobile stuck in the deep powder and had to dig it out. His fight with the snowshovel left him with this nice cut.
Here is the only way to eat a roasted marshmallow!
We took a great little sleigh ride on some beautiful property.
Adventures in cross country skiing

Christie did an awesome job! Even with all that zinc oxide all over her sunburned face.

Shortly after this Christian flew down a hill and had a pill of snow go up his back

Our wonderful dinner at a private ranch outside winter park. It was absolutely fabulous!

The manager took us down to the wine cellar to show it off. What an amazing place.

Here are a bunch of action pics of us skiing. The scenery was just gorgeous.

Christian was trying to spray Christie with some snow. Too bad the snow was really heavy because it was so late in the season.

How is this for a finale? Christian catches some AIR!

It's an...apology

For all those who were hoping that our blog would be regularly updated...sorry. Here is to hoping that we can keep up and do a better job. I will post a bunch of pics on everything you have missed...
